I love art!  Especially abstract expressionist art.  I’m mesmerized by the work of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keefe, and Jackson Pollock. They are why I became an abstract artist.  Painting for me is about self expression, turning my soul inside out.

Born in Philadelphia, I returned to the east coast after living a bicoastal life for over a decade.  Traveling extensively has given me a broader worldview in terms of culture, creativity and self expression.

Taos, NM is where I celebrated my 50th birthday at the Mable Dodge Luhan House with 24 incredible women I’d never met. At this Creative Writing Retreat, I discovered my path forward would be as an artist, a painter. I spent many hours in galleries and art museums studying colors and shapes.   From an established abstract painter in Phoenix, I learned how to set up an art studio, studied paint choices, and how to take the first step.  After that, I was on my own!  My painting tools are acrylics, brushes, palette knives and anything that can make marks on canvas.

Turns out, mid-life is the perfect time to reinvent oneself.  I took a personal leap into the world of being an artist and I am glad I did.
